to take their content “to go” by offering widgets that can be placed
on social networks, blogs and personal websites. This means that
brands get exposed to users’ inner and outer friend circles, providing
new opportunities for interaction and evangelism.
Widget placement is completely user initiated
and is the strongest form of brand endorsement. As such, widgets
tend to be located on a webpage’s “sweet spot” instead of in an
